BUYING FOR DOGS: Works as I expected, easy to refill. Obviously for smaller dogs. Does have a challengingly high lip before food reaches the hole, needs a pretty hard smack to dispense. Great you can make the dispensing hole smaller, although ideally I would like if I could lower or remove the lip near the dispenser hole.BUYING FOR CATS: Unfortunately I bought this to try with my cat, and it is too heavy and flat for her to smack around as a "treat dispenser". I knew it would be harder (I wanted something not round so it doesn't just shoot off under the couch during play, and it works great for that!) The little lip near the dispensing hole is a little tall as well for her kibble to be able to roll over to fall out the hole, so very strong smacks would be needed to use!This is for our 6.5 yr old dachshunds who are skilled treat ball/dispenser users. This one is a bit challenging to get off and back on, aligning the tabs and top to bottom but once it's on, it's on. I like that I can adjust the hole for their small size kibble. And it's not very loud on the hardwood floor either.
